This hands-on creative workshop invites participants to explore the intersection of artistic practice, historical observation, and material transformation. Drawing inspiration from the ornamental and architectural language of Athenian public spaces, the session encourages a dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation.

We’ll begin by observing photographs of Athenian public spaces, focusing on their architectural details and historical motifs. Participants will then explore the shapes and forms that emerge from these visuals, translating them into graphic compositions. Using drawing materials, you’ll create your own Athens-inspired pattern on repurposed surfaces, which will then be assembled and adorned with silk cords resulting in a one-of-a-kind handcrafted vase that celebrates both creativity and sustainability.

At the end of the workshop, each participant will take their unique "vase" that carries the essence of Athenian artistry and personal expression.

MeTooPatterns is an Athens-based design project exploring pattern, heritage and material transformation. Their work includes the “Athens Pattern” series inspired by ancient Athens and the Acropolis area, architectural motifs, classical forms and ceramics re-imagined in contemporary design. They work with natural fabrics, silkscreen printing and limited-edition pieces offering a bridge between craft, heritage and modern creativity.
